Which tata indica diesel variant i should purchase and why, am on low budget,is dicor and fiats engine worth?
Sir,
I am keen on purchasing a diesel car as my requirement would be to go on long drives out of the city on weekends.I have narrowed down to purchasing a new tata indica as it fits my budget and other requirements.
I want to know which model of indica should i purchase out of the following:
1) Non turbo
2) Turbo
3) DICOR
4) Wait for the tata indica with fiats diesel engine.
I am very low on budget and speed and power is not my prime requirement.For me fuel efficiency,less maintenance costs,cheap spares and reliablilty are of prime importance.
But now i am confused whether to go for a dicor or wait for the tata fiat engine.
Considering the extra initial cost for DICOR and fiats new engine, is it really worth spending extra money on them.I have heard that CRDI engines are very costly to maintain, and are they more reliable than the existing turbo diesel engine?
Also will the extra cost be compensated by the extra mileage these engines will derive?

Wait for a couple of months after the Multi Jet Engine (MJD) is launched. By then actual users would have their experiences. Ask any user in your locality – they will be happy to give you their feed back. Right now, my vote would be for the Turbo – because it is the tried and tested engine. DICOR is too new, and reviews are very sparse.

Query about car registration , road tax after shifting to a new place.?
I have a Tata Indica Xeta GVS, 1.2 petrol car, December 2006 model of KA-19 Mangalore registration.I have moved to Hyderabad now. I stay near Motinagar chowrastha and Rajeevnagar circle. I have got NOC for my car from M’lore. What should i do now so that i can drive my car in Hyderabad without any legal issues. Shall i go for a new registration, or shall i pay only road tax of A.P. Do i need to pay life time tax or can I part pay for 3-4 years. Which RTA i shall go? Khairatabad or Kukatapally?. What will be the tax amount for 4 years old Tata Indica petrol car? Do i need to pay at E-Seva or i need to prepare DD? On whose name i should prepare DD? I have no clues about all these issues. Can you please help me? My mobile number is 8106101832

You will be charged road tax@7% of the original value of the car at AP.Then they will issue a new AP No.to you.You may apply for a refund of road tax from K’taka RTO.

You can drive anywhere but if you have moved to new city contact RTO,Office you will have to pay the road tax.

I think new registration is required.

I think part payment is not possible.

Your residence falls in which RTO Office.

Contact RTO but it will be more than Mangalore.
