How To Find The Best New Car Price Quote?

Negotiating below sticker price of new car?

I went to the local Honda dealer to get some price quotes and the sticker price for the LX auto was $21,160.

How much can I negotiate below the sticker price?
Any tips from personal experiance?
It was an Accord LX.

With the afforementioned price research, go to the Lot prepared to use the word, “today”. “Scott, i’ll give you 19650 for the silver LX right now today.” ….but only say this if you are prepared to buy TODAY.

Scott will take longer than 45 seconds to come back to his desk with a counter-offer…….but didn’t i just see the accord lease deal for 269 a month. On TV? If the accords are flying out of there, scott and the boys will be holding on to more gross.

If you really like/need it, paying a little more for the accord ain’yt that bad.

Get er done

Help with price on a new car quote!

have a question regarding a car deal which I am about to make with Honda Financing. My credit is 673 and I plan to buy a Honda Civic 08 with down payment of $1500 and monthly of $350-370. The price on
the car sticker is in around $20,200. Is that a good deal? I dont know anything about cars and I want to know how much should I quote. Thanks!

Not a very good deal (unless it’s a hybrid) keep shopping. Good luck.

Negotiating new car price – Invoice minus incentives?

I have researched into buying a new Nissan car and found the MSRP prices on edmunds.com and kbb.com to be around 25,500-26,500. The listed invoice price on kbb.com is 25,000 after (24,500 before) including the destination charge (presumably the fees dealership incur for having the car sent to their location).

The dealership has given me a price quote for about 27,500. I found a combined 3000 in savings from discounts and incentives offered by the manufacturer that can be applied to this purchase. What do you think would be a fair price range for this car before including transaction fees such as sales tax, license plates, titling, etc? I was told that the transaction fees come close to about 10% of the base selling price?

I am assuming that the invoice price listed on kbb.com would be fairly close to the actual invoice at the dealership. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Does that mean that I should expect a price of about 22,000 after the price negotiation?

You have all the data you will need to buy the car at a good price.
First, remember that the dealer will ALWAYS make their holdback money that you will not see. This is typicaly 3% and it is built into their “invoice price”. So, if they sell you the car at invoice minus the rebates + destination charges + documentation fees (tag and title services)+ sales tax = fair price for the car.
When they sell you a car at invoice for 25,000 they will make the 3% ($750.00+ the doc fees which will vary by dealer and run $250-$750) so, at a minimum they will make $1,000 off you sale which is plenty of profit. They will also get a commission for your financing if you elect to get bank financing thru the dealer?
The only time you may have to pay over invoice is for a hot vehicle that has manufactured limited quantities or demand far exceeds supply?

Negotiate the sales price of the car, then have them show the rebates. This will allow you to see the price you are paying.

Good luck
